Clayton Moore, TV's Lone Ranger, Dies At Age 85 |
![]() |
Clayton Moore, the masked man who played The Lone Ranger on television and raced into our living rooms saying "Hi, Yo Silver" to the music of The William Tell Overture, died Tuesday (Dec. 28) of a heart attack in West Hills Hospital, just outside Los Angeles. He was 85.
Moore appeared in costume years after the show ended, and even won a court battle over rights to use the image.
